As a fan of all things space and space flight related I've enjoyed following fellow Canadian and International Space Station Commander Chris Hadfield during his time aboard the ISS.
His photography of the earth, space, life on board the station and indeed his truly Canadian approach to life floating around the planet at over 27-thousand kilometres per hour has been intriguing to watch and a source of pride for all Canadians and all of the human race for that matter.
His experience is one that very few get to witness first hand but through his generous posts on Twitter and YouTube those of us who can only dream of going to space were able to get a glimpse of something truly remarkable.
Commander Hadfield is set to depart the ISS later today aboard a Soyuz capsule with two fellow astronauts to return to earth after several months. He will no doubt return to a heroes welcome in Canada or at least he should. He is a remarkable man and an inspiration to all Canadians.
And if there was ever any doubt that Hadfield is the coolest astronaut or cosmonaut ever to circle the planet, his final video before leaving for home removes all doubt. Agreed with your comments. This is one Canadian to be proud.As a country we can be proud of this Canadian. Let's hope he doesn't enter politics.
